Warehouse QC: what the camera can prove

Quality control at an agent warehouse is a camera, a tape measure and a prohibited-items check. Used well, the QC set is the evidence your return window runs on. Used late, it is a souvenir of a window that closed while the photos sat unread.

The inspection, as the desks themselves define it

What QC covers is written down, desk by desk, and it is narrower than the word quality suggests: style, colour, labeled size, quantity, visible damage. Not fit, not materials, not function.

The three blind spots in every QC set

The practical reading: QC helps compare the pictured item with the order, within the scope of the photographs and inspection. The second question belongs to seller vetting, before any money moves.

Reading the QC set while the clock runs

The window maths makes reading urgent: photos land at stock-in, and the no-reason clocks on the undo page run 5 to 7 days from around that moment. A working order for judging the QC set in one sitting:

Count and match first: items, colourways, labeled sizes against your order lines; document visible mismatches and ask about the applicable return or correction process.
Read the label shots like documents: size tags, wash labels, model numbers; a photographed label gives support a specific detail to compare.
Scan construction points at full zoom: seams, zips, glue lines, heel shapes; record visible defects clearly and check the relevant inspection and return conditions.
Request a specific extra view promptly when something important is ambiguous. Check the current price and scope; a photograph does not insure the purchase.
Decide, in writing, before the clock runs: return, exchange, or ship. Waiting can use up a relevant deadline; check the actual order conditions before postponing.

Judging the QC photos is the one place where this hobby rewards slowness twice over: slow enough to look, fast enough to stay inside the window.
